Storm Bowling has produced some really agressive, top selling bowling balls in the past year and a half with the Virtual Gravity realeased back in October of 2008 and the Virtual Energy released seven months later in the summer of 2009. With their most recent release, another big hit I might add, they have made a departure from the Virtual name for the Premier line of balls. They instead went with Invasion for this newest ball.
The asymmetrical core design of the Storm Invasion is different from any other Storm ball released before it. Storm claims it's unlike any ball on the market! Of course, that's what they all say, huh? In real life testing though it does seem to be the case! Many customers say the advertising isn't just hype. This ball is a beast! The new design gives the ball a faster revving core with a more exactly pinpointable (if that's a word) break point. The Invasion begins the hook sooner and instead of getting a weaker angle of entry into the pocket as you might expect, it actually gives you a stronger, bigger angle of entry! With the R3X coverstock, the ball gets more motion when you're in the oil. It gets significantly more friction in oil than the R2X, the previous Reactor series coverstock from Storm.
In review, the Storm Invasion performs very well in heavy oil conditions. It starts its hook sooner than many other balls but still has a very strong entry angle. And based on user reviews, it seems that it keeps the pins falling! Oh, and if you're wondering, it smells like mulberry!
