Hammer has been on a serious roll of late with quality products that people really seem to love. The Black Widow line from Hammer Bowling has really dominated much of the industry the last few years since the introduction of the original Black Widow back in mid 2006 and the Black Widow Pearl about a year later. Since then Hammer has introduced four more Widow line high-performance bowling balls including the Black Widow Bite, Venom, Sting and the most recent (and the one we want to discuss today), the Hammer Black Widow Nasty.
The original Widow, and really all the balls in this series, have been known for length and an aggressive breakpoint. The Nasty is no different. In fact, Hammer describes this new offering as having the dirtiest ball motion featured in the Widow line. However, they also claim that the breakpoint is easier to control. That sounds like a pretty good combination to me! This allows you to throw wide and get a controlled, big break for lots of pin action. As always, new improvements to core and coverstock technologies are at play here, including a higher differential and a lower mass bias making the ball easier to drill.
So let's review. More forgiving on the break... check. Easier to control... check. Easier to drill... check. Excellent grip in medium to heavy oil patterns... check. Can be found for a pretty cheap price online... check. Based on sales, customer reviews, and what we know about this bowling ball, everyone at BowlZilla is pretty sure the latest in the Widow line from Hammer, the Black Widow Nasty is proving itself an instant classic!
